VERALL GOAL
/
MISSION
The projects developed a scheme for the education of persons, working in the field of IT-Education with blind and
visually impaired persons (VIP), regardless in school or in adult education.
These persons should be certified and be forced to recertify within a certain period with the aim to establish a standard
for the IT-related education for this specific group of learners. For a broader future, the certification scheme could be
rolled out for other types of disabilities, like hard of hearing/deaf persons.
T
HE SOLUTION THAT HAS BEEN DEVELOPED
to help teachers and persons, that are educating persons with VI and to give them a certificate, that they are well
educated and know the backgrounds and facts about VI as well as Low Vision, Assistive Technologies and institutional
framework in Austria. Stakeholder organisation like the Hilfsgemeinschaft and the Blindenverband as well as blind and
visually impaired persons have been working together in the working group of the OCG to elaborate and plan the
Syllabus, the QTB (Questions and Test Database) and the test situation itself as well as the sample tests.
