VERALL GOAL
/
MISSION
Radio JUMP is a project that was implemented to let juveniles, that are blind or visually impaired, speak for themselves
and to give their themes and topics prominence. The goals of the project are like those of a production school, which is
an offer for juveniles that shall give those adolescents that need support and time after they finished school, the
possibility to find their way into the labour market. A production school also shall give them the possibility to acquire
lacking basic skills and social skills. The overall goal of this measure is to identify which qualification corresponds best to
the potentials of a juvenile and to bring them to the next qualification step. Radio JUMP also wants to put down a
marker against being treated like a child, the positioning as a victim, limitation and foreign control.
T
HE SOLUTION THAT HAS BEEN DEVELOPED
Within the project, the attendees have the possibility to produce radio contents by themselves, but with the help of
professionals. Therefore, the participants need a diverse expertise, like the following basic qualifications: handling a
computer, reading skills, research skills, general education, articulacy and so forth. Further, they need skills that are
important for the development of the own personality, for example: voice training, a good elocution and a considered
effort of emotions and communication skills. Radio JUMP offers the opportunity to learn hard- and soft-skills at the
same time. It is also a medium suitable to present the wishes and desires of the young persons taking part in this project
to a broader public.
