ACTS ABOUT SIZE AND SCOPE
1.
New teacher training courses developed, namely: - ‘Disability and Society’ (36 hours). - ‘Accessibility and Universal
Design’ (18 hours) - ‘Teacher Assistant within the Inclusive Education System’ (72 hours) - ‘Inclusive Policy
Development’ (18 hours) - ‘Consultative Policy’ (18 hours)
2.
25 policies were amended/developed on the national level regarding the education for persons with disabilities and
the implementation of inclusive education.

106 children with disabilities joined over 50 mainstream schools across Crimea in the fall of 2012. 90 children with
disabilities joined over 40 mainstream schools across the city of Lviv in the fall of 2012.

UTLOOK
The framework utilized in this project has been acknowledged as a best practice by our funder, and could be applied to
other countries where there are partners willing to work together. There is a cost related to contributions of
organizations but it would depend on the scale of the project. We feel that inclusive education is more cost effective
than segregation, in terms of immediate financial costs and long-term costs to health and social systems.
