VERALL GOAL
/
MISSION
The projects aim is to increase the availability of education for all children, but especially those who are currently not
participating in the education system. It therefore promotes distance learning, where only a computer, an internet
access and basic computer handling skills are needed.
T
HE SOLUTION THAT HAS BEEN DEVELOPED
According to reports of the organization "Save the Children“, about 80 percent of children with disabilities are not taking
part in the education system. Therefore, the project has created a possibility of education for children with various
disabilities that are not able to attend schools now. Through an internet portal, that imparts knowledge about the
Serbian language, math and science that are seen as the key subjects, they are able to get elementary knowledge and
are motivated to continue with education and to participate in the everyday life. The virtual school, which is offered
through the mentioned portal, has no classes and the content is divided into lessons, so that each child can find
appropriate content regardless of his or her age. The contents include a variety of multimedia, audio and video material.
The tests, that are held, are supposed to promote learning and are not meant for grading. The portal can also be used
offline through a schools intranet. The portal is free of costs and available for everyone. A registration is only needed if
the users want to participate in the tests that are held. The available content is offered in Serbian, but can also be
translated in different foreign languages hence becoming available to other language groups.
