MISSION
Especially in low-income countries,
students with visual impairment have lacking access to education and the
appropriate assistive devices. The organizations goal is to enable more visually impaired children to go to school and
raise awareness of their educational needs. Capacity building of teachers and other professionals ensures that the
needs of children with visual impairment are met. Another important objective is to promote the use of information and
communications technology.

HE SOLUTION THAT HAS BEEN DEVELOPED
By implementing assistive devices, training teachers and adapting classroom and teaching materials, parents have been
encouraged to send their children with visual impairment to school. ICEVI works closely with of organizations of blind
people. Through networking the rights of persons with visual impairment could be advocated and new laws were
implemented.

ACTS ABOUT SIZE AND SCOPE
The campaign has benefitted over 105,000 Children with visual impairment until date in the participating countries.
The campaign organized more than 650 capacity-building programs and has trained more than 60,000 students and
parents.
The campaign brought together 23 leading World Organizations working in the area of visual impairment to
promote education. This network is considered a big step forward to influence policy makers to promote inclusion.
