O
UTLOOK
The cloud-based system can easily be transferred to other countries or contexts: It is software- and language-
independent and easy to handle for the end user. It works for any language combination. The costs comprise the local
cost rates for interpreters / STTR (about EUR 75 / hour for Germany) and a moderate platform fee. Also, a licensing
model could be an option if the system is to be introduced to a new market on a larger scale. As the UN convention has
been ratified by a large number of states worldwide there is a growing demand and obligation to provide visual
communication support and equal educational and professional perspectives for the hearing impaired. Remote
interpreting thus provides a cost effective method to be used on a large scale.
