VERALL GOAL
/
MISSION
The mission of this Project ‘Travel & Tourism Information for All’ is to create a digital system with global information on
accessible travel & tourism - specific information for travelers with disabilities and senior citizens on accommodation,
recreation and transport worldwide. This system will be presented as a digital platform for both the tourist industry and
the consumers (end-users) and will be following the characteristics of platform thinking: Allowing external parties to
create and consume value, to share value - Tourism for All will provide the infrastructure and will manage the
interactions (partial like the system of Facebook); Designing how the interaction between tourist industry and travelers
with disabilities will happen - ensuring to have the right set of rules to govern these interactions (like TripAdvisor does);
Being able to collect data, which could not be collected in the past without the internet - these data allowing Tourism
for All to match producers and consumers and match consumers and value on a consistent level.
T
HE SOLUTION THAT HAS BEEN DEVELOPED
This digital system will be the solution because:
It will solve the lack of information, making use of an enormous amount of data (some already available - others still to
be found) - in the end covering tourist areas worldwide;
The unknown data which are not available yet will be obtained by this digital platform where as well the tourist industry
as people with disabilities can input their data - all this structured and managed by Tourism for All (e.g. Facebook or
TripAdvisor);
The platform will provide the opportunity for sharing travel experiences and for communication between tourist
industry and disabled guests;
The access information will be standardized, so it can easily be read and compared;
The collected information is completely available for the tourist industry so they can also use it in their own way to
approach disabled guests.
