F
ACTS ABOUT SIZE AND SCOPE
1)
We can give the definition of all parties which can benefit from this project:
a)
the whole tourist industry - providers of accommodations, providers of recreational facilities, tour operators &
travel agencies, booking offices, tourist offices, transport companies and many more.
b)
people with disabilities: in Europe at least 80 million (over 15% of the population, together with other persons
with temporarily reduced mobility, 40% of the population!) - worldwide roughly 650 million persons.
2)
Of course not all of these persons will be able to travel or do in fact travel, so a correct estimate cannot be given. As
for travelling let us not forget that most people - also those with disabilities – do prefer not to travel alone but with
friends, family, and partners. So the amount of beneficiaries of this new system would not only be the traveller with
a disability but also the (usually 3-4 or more) persons travelling with her/him!
OUTLOOK
Everybody in every country can participate in this system by inputting access information on accommodations,
recreational facilities or public or private transport systems. Everybody can upload the access information, provided by
the platform, onto his/her own website or use it for publications. Tourism for All provides all collected information
completely free of charge:
‘The more people we reach the better!'
After 2-3 years, the system will become more cost effective than existing models - for the most part, it will monitor itself
and PR will strengthen through use of social media and through the nature of the system itself.
