OUTLOOK
Krousar Thmey schools follow the offical school program, use the books edited by the public authorities and collaborate
closely with public schools. To insure this coherence, Krousar Thmey representatives meet regularly the Ministry of
Education. This helps to organize the transfer of the management of the schools by 2020. Krousar Thmey and the
Cambodian authorities now discuss about the status of the teachers for blind or deaf children and about the articulation
between schools for blind or deaf children with public schools. Krousar Thmey considers that the Government is the
only institution able to cover the whole territory. The costs to detect deaf or blind children all around the country, and
provide them with an education are too high for a non-profit organization, even though Krousar Thmey has always been
really careful about the use of donors' money. The organization has actually limited its administrative costs up to 4%.
The foundation also tries its best to collect parents' contributions to pay for food and transportation when parents can
afford it. So, the cost effictivity is at the center of Krousar Thmey policy, which states that the organization does not
provide families and children with more than what they need.
