OVERALL GOAL /MISSION
The goal of the empowerment seminars is the prevention of violence for women with learning difficulties or multiple
disabilities. They are convinced that violence prevention for women with learning difficulties can only be successful on
the basis of more self-determination in everyday life.
The experiences, needs and desires of women are focused in the seminars. By sharing knowledge and lively exchange in
the group, the participants can go strengthened back into their daily lives.
THE SOLUTION THAT HAS BEEN DEVELOPED
The association Ninlil provides annually 10-14 empowerment seminars for women with learning difficulties. The
seminars have different topics, for example: "Being a woman with disabilities in society" "confidence“, "Women's
Health", or even a dancing lessons or "My Body- My womanhood-my sexuality." The various approaches enable the
participants to have an individually empowerment experiences.
The seminars have on purpose a low number of participants (up to 7 participants and 2 seminar leaders), so that every
woman, regardless of their disability, has plenty of time and space for the discussion of the topic.
The participation for women with learning difficulties is free.

1. 1999-2014: 210 seminars with a total of 1159 participants
2. On average 12 seminars and 68 participants per year
