1. Aims: Children are leading the intergenerational change in the way people with disabilities are included in society. This talk aims to prove that children are the teachers and the lesson is inclusion.
2. Methods: Community engagement becomes education. Consultation informs design that then is built with the support of local business, government and community. Ongoing activation ensures the lesson continues.
3. Results: 13 playspaces. 4 Social Enterprise cafes. Over 20 awards.
4. Conclusion: Inclusion is childs play. Building inclusive playspaces ensures that children have the opportunity to level society’s playing field and dispel the prejudices that people with disabilities face.
