ACTS ABOUT SIZE AND SCOPE

1.

The project is benefitting 308 schools in Mashonaland West Province of Zimbabwe.

2.

The number of teachers trained in the current project in Mashonaland West is 863 during the last 3 years.

3.

The number of children enrolled in the 308 schools in the past 3 years are 2 388 these include 960 in the 30

selected as model schools(this is where maximum interventions were concentrated ) and 1428 children with

disabilities in the cluster schools where minimal interventions were provided .

UTLOOK

The practices can be adopted or adapted by other organizations, government departments as it is run on the lines of

CRB programs. Different organizations can complement the practices. It’s cost effective as it is community driven.

The project is expanding as SAVE the Children International asked to implement the programme on their behalf in eight

districts of Zimbabwe. As a result of this collaboration with Government, the Ministry of Primary and Secondary

Education is becoming more responsive to the education of learners with disabilities.
