MISSION
The POETA Social Franchise is an accessible, online platform focused on building the capacities of local organizations
working with people with disabilities in Latin America and the Caribbean. The POETA Social Franchise platform replicates
and expands the POETA Model, a vocational, accessible training curriculum targeted at training people with disabilities,
among other vulnerable populations, on the use and appropriation of technology, vocational, soft skills, and job
readiness skills. The final objective of the POETA Social Franchise is to promote economic and educational opportunities,
accessibility, and social and economic inclusion for people with disabilities in Latin America and the Caribbean.

HE SOLUTION THAT HAS BEEN DEVELOPED
The POETA Social Franchise online platform offers local organizations a comprehensive methodological offer, centred on
the POETA Toolbox, which includes a series of resources focused on four areas:
1.
INSTITUTIONAL STRENGTHENING: (technical capacity, management tools, professional and personnel
development, software donations, monitoring and evaluation tools, sustainability support, access to a specialized
information systems, access to scholarships and discounts);
2.
TRAINING MATERIALS: (ICT trainings, Human Development courses: ‘Know your rights, empowerment for people
with disabilities,’ economic opportunity courses, other specialized courses tailored for people with disabilities:
financial literacy, telemarketing, job intermediation skills, entrepreneurship for people with disabilities, accessible
journalism, social entrepreneurship guides, accessibility for employers guide, etc.);
3.
PARTNERSHIP RESOURCES: (scholarships, visibility opportunities, etc.);
4.
SEED-FUND SUPPORT: (Access to financial resources and grants to support specific projects on disabilities, access to
economic opportunities, educational support, etc.)
