Description: Scandic Hotels is the first hotel chain in the world to offer an interactive online training in accessibility that
focuses on advice, tips, tests, and instructional videos showing how to provide excellent service for guests with
disabilities. Virtual e training acted as a subcontractor to training solutions provider Interactive and provided the virtual
training environment embedded in this e learning.

HE SOLUTION THAT HAS BEEN DEVELOPED
It is sometimes hard to teach new team members of difficulties for the guest that might have any sort of disability. With
a familiar environment and the method/pedagogy used in the training we have created an overall awareness and
understanding among all our staff when it comes to accessibility in Scandic hotels. We haven´t seen any other e-learning
solution that is going directly on service for the guest that might have any sort of disability.

OUTLOOK
Scandic has chosen to make the training available to everyone on its website. The hope is that this unique training
programme, which sheds light on some of the many disabilities there are, will benefit people outside Scandic too.
Particularly those working in the travel and tourism industry.
