VERALL GOAL

MISSION
The mission of this project is to increase opportunity to access to education and improve quality of education of children
with disability in provinces of Cao Bang, Dak Lak and Phu Yen of Vietnam. The project tries to address the four following
key problems: developmental delays and disabilities in children are detected late; low school enrolment rate among
children with disabilities; poor quality of children's school performance; and high school drop-out rate among children
with disabilities.

HE SOLUTION THAT HAS BEEN DEVELOPED
The project advocated to set up Support Centers or transformed special schools to Support Centers and provided
technical support for the Centers to mandate functions of early detection, early intervention and support for inclusive
education for children with disabilities. The Support Centre’s staff have comprehensive and diversified expertise and the
Center itself has more functions in terms of support so, besides support children inside the Center, it can reach more
children with disabilities outside in community by training parents and teachers in mainstream schools.

ACTS ABOUT SIZE AND SCOPE
1.
The project has been implemented in three provinces of Cao Bang, Dak Lak and Phu Yen. It covers 18 districts of the
three provinces.
2.
Around 2.500 teachers and education staff/managers have been trained via short and long courses (from 1-2 days
to 3 years)
3.
More than 2.000 children with disabilities in three project provinces have benefited from the project
