UTLOOK
We learned from colleagues in other countries (e.g., Singapore, Portugal, China, etc.) that the modules are relevant and
can be adapted in those countries. Modules 1 and 4 have been translated and adapted for the Portuguese context and
Module 1 has been translated and adapted for the Chinese context. The modules have also been repurposed to reach
the child care community directly (i.e., continuing education credit-granting self-paced self-guided online CONNECT
courses, and state-funded online courses in Kentucky, Florida, and Ohio). The cost of implementation of the modules is
free unless translation is needed (e.g., in the case of Portugal and China) or unless trainers desire to receive train-the-
trainers' professional development.
Given a growing interest in the modules in Singapore, CONNECT staff partnered with SEED, an early childhood training
institute, to provide instructors, coaches, and trainers with a train-the-trainers professional development sequence to
implement the modules between March-May 2015. KKH Women's and Children's Hospital in Singapore is also funding
the development of a module on early literacy using the CONNECT module framework in Fall 2015. A new partnership is
also explored with a school in Beijing, China to translate the modules and to provide a train-the-trainers professional
development sequence to help trainers in Beijing implement the modules.
