VERALL GOAL
/
MISSION
The team of the project wants to implement the Ecuadorian Inclusive Disaster Risk Management Methodology to
strengthen the response capacity of persons with disabilities, their families and caregivers for disaster risk reduction.
T
HE SOLUTION THAT HAS BEEN DEVELOPED
The team of the project assumes that events have a greater impact on persons with disabilities and those persons with
disabilities and their needs are often ignored and excluded from all phases of disaster risk reduction. Therefore, it
wants to develop and implement the Ecuadorian Disaster Risk Management Methodology through house-by-house
visits to know the specific needs of a person with disabilities and to design an inclusive emergency plan, inclusive
audiobooks, a website, a geo-location software and inter-agency coordination.

O
UTLOOK
The Ecuadorian Inclusive Disaster Risk Management Methodology is easily adaptable as shown by the replication
experience in a community in Southern Colombia. Extra costs come only into being because of logistics (especially for
printed materials and methodological tools).
