AWARDS AND RECOGNITION 2018 • Beit Issie Shapiro wins the award for "Best Practice for Global Transference" from the international Zero Project for Friendship Park, Israel's first inclusive and accessible playground. • Beit Issie Shapiro wins the international Zero Project Award on Accessibility 2018. 2017 • Naomi Stuchiner, Founder of Beit Issie Shapiro, receives the Wind Social Entrepeneurship Award and Honorary Fellowship from IDC Herzliya. • Beit Issie Shapiro's Self-Advocacy Program wins the "Source of Light" Award from the Government of Israel, Ministry of Welfare. 2016 • Shosh Kaminsky, Beit Issie Shapiro’s Director of Community Development, wins the five- year prize for developing and managing knowledge, and disseminating knowledge in Israel and abroad. 2014 • Beit Issie Shapiro wins the International "Right to Play" Prize, by the International Play Association. • Hani Shmerling, a teacher at Beit Issie Shapiro’s Special Education School, wins the State’s “2014 Teacher of the Year” award. 2013 • Dr Benny Hozmi, Beit Issie Shapiro’s Academic Director, won the Recanati-Kop- Rashi Entrepreneur Social Worker Award. 2012 • Beit Issie Shapiro is granted "Special Consultative Status" to the UN Economic and Social Council. • Beit Issie Shapiro receives the Akim Outstanding Member award for excellence in its work for people with intellectual disabilities. • Beit Issie Shapiro receives the Rotary Club Award for Tolerance, awarded to organizations and people who contribute towards inter-ethnic understanding, for its activity among Jews and Arabs, working for a better, more caring society. 2011 • Beit Issie Shapiro wins Israel’s “Most Effective Non-Profit” Award, for being an organization that displays exceptional achievements and makes an impact through its activities. 2004 • Beit Issie Shapiro wins Israel's Award for Excellence in the Field of Volunteerism and Non-Profit Organizations. 2000 • Dentists and anesthetists at Beit Issie Shapiro's Naomi & Shimon Ditkovsky Dental Clinic receive the Shalem Fund's Volunteer Award. 1999 • Beit Issie Shapiro receives the Prime Minister's "Child Protection" Award.
